What three lessons do you want your children to learn from you?
Lesson #1: Be open-minded to try new food. It took me forever to fall in love with food, and I gave my parents so much grief about it when I was little. I would hope that my children could learn to appreciate different flavors and cuisines at an early age. But who knows, I just might get stuck with picky eaters as retribution for my past offenses.
Lesson #2: Not be afraid of failure. I think that the possibility of failing has kept me back from experiencing a lot of things. Failure isn’t a bad thing, it teaches us perseverance and dedication. It also doesn’t define us. Failure isn’t a destination. Everyone has experienced it at some point in their life, but it’s a step on the journey to success.
Lesson #3: Trust in God. I want them to not be worried about tomorrow, because God is in control. I want them to know that God loves them, and is taking care of them. We spend so much time thinking of worse case scenarios that don’t even happen. This awesome quote couldn’t explain it better.

Excellent lessons. They’ll be miles ahead.
